ORANGE WINE
 
INGREDIENTS

1 doz sweet oranges
1/2 oz. yeast
8 cups boiling water
2 lbs sugar
 
METHOD:

1. Wash oranges and slice thinly crosswise (rind if desired... remove seeds)
2. Pour on 4 cups boiling water - allow to cool.
3. Mix yeast with 2 tbsps. sugar and add to oranges. Stir in 1 lb sugar.
4. Place in a bowl or jar, cover with a cloth and let stand in the sun for four days.
5. Strain, stir in 1lb sugar and add 4 cups water.
6. Place in a large bottle with fermentation lock and keep in warm place for about 10 days.
7. Bottle, seal and store for 1 year.
