| PLANTAIN WINE |
| INGREDIENTS 6 lbs ripe plantain 1 gal. water 1/2 oz yeast 1 slice bread 4 lbs sugar (white) |
| METHOD: 1. Wash and peel plantains. 2. Put plantain in water and bring to the boil for five minutes. 3. Strain the liquid and add sugar to sweeten. 4. Pour the sweetened liquid into a clean jar and leave to cool. 5. Set yeast in 2 tbsps water 6. Toast slice of bread to a light brown then spread with the yeast. 7. Put into the sweetened liquid in jar for 2 weeks. 8. Strain, wash jar thoroughly and return wine to jar. 9. Leave for 1 month then restrain and bottle off. |
